Once the EPC phase is complete, it’s essential to verify and document that a project and all its components and systems are installed, inspected, tested, operated and managed as designed. This stage of the project is where the commissioning and final handover takes place. The state of “completeness” to the pre-defined criteria is assessed, and the build is tested to ensure it meets the design requirements. The commissioning process will check, inspect and test every operational component of the project: from individual functions up to complex amalgamations. Once completions and commissioning has been carried out, the final handover of the project to the operational phase takes place.
