Please tell me a little bit about yourself
I started my accounting career working in the manufacturing sector before moving into the finance sector. I’ve completed both a BTEC national and HND in finance and I love what I do.
What is your role and what do you do
I am the accounts co-ordinator at Applica. It’s a very varied role, which I enjoy and I really feel that my input counts. I feel trusted and motivated to do the best job I can.
Why did you choose to work with Applica
Honestly; because they do things properly. There are systems and procedures in place across the company which they are continually looking to improve upon. I have been here a relatively short period of time and my induction along with my personal development plan has been first class. I feel valued and seen.
I feel that my confidence has grown massively since starting here.
What is the best part of your role
It is the opportunity to learn something new every day and have an intellectually challenging workload.
What are the benefits of working in a global company?
Working with different cultures definitely. What I’ve found across Applica from all of their offices is that I’m trusted to do a good job, I’m not just a number. I have ownership in my role and the whole team is open and receptive to new ways of doing things.
Finally tell me something not many people know about you
I did a drum solo at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) playing: March the Men of Harlech.
