Please tell me a bit about yourself
I’m originally from Bristol. I studied for a BSc in Accounting and Finance at the University of Exeter Business school. When I graduated I worked as a client accountant within the property management sector for a year and a half. I kept reading about Manchester and the buzz surrounding the city so I decided to move here and it hasn’t let me down!
What is your role and what do you do?
On a day to day basis I deal with payroll, raising invoices, ensuring that all records are up to date. I’m not doing anything too technical at the moment as I get to know the department and the company.
The team is really taking time to show me how everything works in detail. The training is some of the best I have ever had. I’m keen to learn more and help wherever I can.
Why did you choose to work with Applica?
The company is growing, it’s a success, it’s international. This really appealed to me. I’m bilingual and speak French so the opportunity to use my language skills really appeals to me. There is just so much opportunity.
What do enjoy most about working with Applica?
I have to say the training. It’s been tailored for me. The whole team at every level has got to know me as a person. The training is detailed and it’s done right. It’s such high quality and I find it so exciting.
The culture here is so supportive and friendly, everyone makes you feel comfortable. I don’t feel overwhelmed, it’s just great.
Tell me something not many people know about you
I am a very good singer and was part of a choir during most of my school years.
