Please tell me a little bit about yourself
I’m originally from County Tyrone, Ireland. I decided to move to Manchester four years ago and haven’t looked back!
I attended the University of Ulster and have a bachelor’s degree in music. My professional background up until 2023 focused primarily on Music Education. In 2023 I decided to make a change and move into the world of recruitment, working for a business who focused on the US energy market.
What is your role with Applica?
I am a recruitment consultant working in the UK/EU/US energy markets with a focus on engineering disciplines.
Why did you choose to work with Applica?
It’s important to me to work with a company that has a clear structure, lots of opportunities for learning and development and more senior colleagues that I can learn from. It became apparent straight away that Applica offered all of these things and more.
Something which really struck me as a key reason why I applied for the job are the values of the company and they were mentioned at every stage of the application process. They aren’t just words in a business plan, they really mean something here and I like that. I’m usually nervous on interviews but from the very start I had a good feeling about Applica. I was made to feel welcome from the get go and I can’t wait to develop my career here.
What do you really enjoy about your profession? What makes you get up in the morning?
Fundamentally I enjoy working and helping people, I did this in my tutoring days, and it feels great to help someone develop their career and to support and add value to clients in finding the best talent to develop and complete their projects.
Tell me something people do not know about you
I coach Crossfit and Olympic Weightlifting! I gained my coaching qualifications a few years ago and regularly coach in gyms across the Manchester area.
