Please tell me a little bit about yourself:
I have approximately 10 years of Recruiting/HR experience in the Oil & Gas industry. Most of my career has been in recruiting but I’ve dabbled in general HR as well. I had an extensive break as I took some time off to stay home with my kids but am happy to be back doing what I love.
I worked for an E&P company early in my career where I learned many aspects of the O&G industry, especially about various engineering disciplines. That’s where my love of technical/engineering recruiting began. I went on to work for an LNG company, who is known as a pioneer in the world of LNG and exporting. That was an exciting place to work as they were pre-FID on their first LNG export project when I joined, and I had an opportunity to learn a new niche of the O&G industry and all about staffing large projects.
What attracted you to working for Applica?
The people and the culture, foremost. Also, the ability to work with a company in its early years and be a part of shaping what it becomes. Additionally, this position gives me an opportunity to utilize the skills and relationships gained from past experiences.
What is the best part of your job?
I enjoy speaking to different people each day building new relationships and enhancing existing ones. But mostly, I enjoy the people I work with.
What are the benefits of working in a global company?
A global company allows us to have a large reach. We can utilize client relationships and candidate resources across the globe. It makes for a fun experience learning about different cultures as well.
What’s the best advice you can give to candidates?
Act with integrity. Be genuine and upfront with your expectations and intentions. Remember, it’s a small world. Don’t burn bridges.
Finally tell me something not many people know about you.
I love animals, especially dogs. I have a 15-year-old Maltese/Poodle named Riley, and we hope to add another dog to the family soon.
