Please tell me a little bit about yourself.

I’m a native Houstonian, born and raised in the Northwest Houston area. I attended the University of Houston, studying nutrition, kinesiology and exercise sciences.

In my previous role, I worked within the clean energy sector and focused on direct hire recruitment across North America within hydrogen, ammonia, sustainable aviation fuels and LNG.

What is your role in Applica?

I am a recruitment consultant for the North American market. As of now, I am mainly focusing on contracts but will recruit for direct hire opportunities as well.

My focus is within LNG and energy transition sectors. LNG is pivotal in terms of energy transition, and it is a huge market right now in the states.

I attended a conference in New Orleans earlier this year about clean energy that touched on different routes to market, such as ammonia. I find the whole area fascinating.

What do you really enjoy about your profession?

I am really motivated by the opportunity to help someone find their next career move.

I consult with people that are ready for the next step or change in their career; it's special to help them find that next role. I recently placed someone in a new career who had been out of work since COVID. We worked hard to find her a new job because her area of expertise was very niche. Since she’s been placed, she has excelled and is on track to get a promotion; that just makes my heart full.

I’m also able to combine my previous experience and market expertise into this new role, it's opening a lot of doors for my candidates which I’m happy about. I really enjoy my job in recruitment, it’s a career that I am excited to grow and develop in.

Why did you choose to work with Applica?

The thing that really stood out to me during my interview process was Applica’s value of empathy that resonated with me, as I feel many people have either lost or have become numb to in a way. It is at the forefront of my mind. I hear my candidates, and I work with them to find that next step. In a people centric role, you must embody empathy. People have lives and it’s important that I know their needs and aspirations.

Knowing that the empathy is central to life at Applica and how I’ve been treated since I started, shows me that I’ve made the right decision.

Please tell me something not many people know about you?

I was an extra on a Gordon Ramsay TV show!
