Please tell me a little bit about yourself
I moved into recruitment after successfully completing my degree in finance and accounting but realising a career in this field would be too slow paced for me.
A number friends and family work in recruitment so I decided to make the move and I’ve never looked back.
I’ve worked across a number of different sectors but for me energy is where the heart is.
Why did you choose to work with Applica?
I was immediately blown away by the ambition, drive and the incredible clients which Applica has. It is obvious that the team is very serious about what they’re doing.
I’ve worked in a number of organisations before but I’ve never seen a team embrace its values like Applica, every single member of staff lives and breathes Determination, Contribution, Empathy, Authenticity and Relationships
Why Applica? I believe in the leadership of the company and where we’re going.
What do you believe sets Applica apart for candidates and contractors?
The difference with Applica is that it is very niche, very specialist and very relevant to its new candidates and existing contractors, which are spectacular by the way. The recruiters know the industry and their specialisms inside out and they have extensive networks, ensuring that candidates achieve excellent progression in their careers. Contractors work with us time and time again because of this. Every single member if the team is personable and approachable irrespective if it’s an enquiry about a role or checking the status of a visa. From the initial contact all the way through their journey with us, they are treated as professionals with everyone at Applica putting the candidate and contractors’ interests first.
What do you believe sets Applica apart for clients?
Clients work with Applica because it has the expertise and knowledge to serve an entire project. Taking a holistic view allows Applica to provide the best solutions in terms of market intelligence, recruitment, cost and contractor care. This approach gives immense value add to our clients.
What is the best part of your role?
One of the key reasons I decided to take this role is that it offers me the opportunity to help develop the existing team, who are incredibly driven and help them with the next step of their careers. I’ve been fortunate to work with some great companies and I’d like share this knowledge. I enjoy seeing people develop in their roles.
What are the benefits of working in a global company?
Personally, I really enjoy the diverse opportunities which it presents. Over the years, I’ve managed to really understand different tax laws and regulations around the world, something which is incredibly important to contractors and it’s something which I like helping them to navigate.
Helping them to mobilise into their next position is something that I really enjoy whether it’s tax, culture, travel, I enjoy it all and it’s something which really adds value to contractors who work with us.
Finally tell me something not many people know about you
I’m the Chairman of the local cycling club. We currently have 35 members. We started around 8 years ago. It has a great community feel to it and a key thing that I enjoy is the number of charity events we do. The most recent was our annual ride from Abersoch to Hale, 130 miles which raised £23.5k for The Christie, a charity which provides life-changing and life-saving projects benefiting cancer patients now and in the future. The hospital has supported a number of club members who were able to actually come on the ride, so this event is always extra special!
